On that morning just like every other day,
I kissed your pretty forehead and went on my way.
It was a beautiful September Tuesday, blue skies and all.
Never did I think of the darkness that would fall.
When I first heard the explosion all I saw was your face,
It gave me the strength to fight and find a way out of that place.
But after an hour, I could barely breathe,
But the sweet sound of your laughter resonated within me.
I promise Maggie, I didn’t feel any pain.
