Sometimes you must
lose everything
to gain true wealth
and sleep in a
cocoon of grief
before you can emerge
with wings dusted gold
to kiss the
hearts of flowers.
Sometimes you must live
a joyful lie
before you can seek
the ultimate truth.
True ugliness can
the gracefull dream
and in ritual,
The old always gives
way to the new
like blades of green
that rise from dust.

bloomed from
that day we first met
in front that old church
we walked around
the old gardens
amazed at each
other’s contenance.
