Oreoluwa Sanni Poems

I wasn't born normal,
I wasn't raised normal,
How can I be normal?
...

I Lose myself to prove myself.
Bad thoughts, a cause of mental health.

Bad choices.
...

Taunting pain in my veins.
I can't hate.
It will affect my heart rate.
It will mess with my mental state.
...

How it all began.

Man, Woman, Serpent, Plan,
Shame, Naked, Dead, Ran.
...

I've been driving on a highway,
Searching for my way.

Music playing on my sad days,
...

Daily activities as the mind sets.
Lost in endless plots of possibilities.

Trying to understand what went wrong I wondered.
...

Be positive.

That's a prerogative statement.
How can I be,
...

It's time to say goodbye to my teenage years.
Some blissful memories and others dreadful.
I experienced growth in so many ways I'm amazed.
I opened up some untreated wounds to treat it so I could heal better.
...

Table with my frenemies.
They think they are enemies.
Wolves on the porch.
But not a dragon with a torch.
...

When the music stopped
We concluded our waltz

The smoke cleared
...

Self sabotaging,
Cell in and Large,
Tell me what's the end, to a felony you keep re-sparking,
Lit the fuse, blazing hot mess how you just turn on yourself,
...

My heart cold, I feel abandoned.
People leave me in sorrow surrounded.
Misunderstood, my middle name.
The key to life is the mind with empty pockets.
...

Don't mistake abnormality for immorality,
I'm an anomaly but that doesn't mean I'm out to defy moral standard because that could mostly be to my detriment.

I learn from people's mistakes and victories in general,
...

I still love you,
I don't say those words loosely,

I meant it when I said it,
...

Saturated mind with uncertainties,
Searching for the truth and honesty.

Clarity,
...

What's the point of building bonds just to say good bye.

Fall in love but you know it's wrong and it makes you start to question why.
...

No words, No sounds
Just him and the ones he created.

Once there was life and meaning in the tones
...

Find peace in pessimism.
Happy is sadness when it blooms.
Bloomed flowers don't last forever.
In their due seasons new flowers grow.
...

When the Rats in a lab say they're grateful.

The Hare in the Fox would say it waltzed in so graceful.
...

They say you can't change the people around you.

But you can change who you have around.

I'm Not Normal

I wasn't born normal,
I wasn't raised normal,
How can I be normal?

I am not normal,
And It's quite abnormal,
to think I can be normal.

I can front for you,
but that doesn't make me normal,
My views are not normal
I've seen things abnormal,
Tho I can learn the ways
Walk it talk it blend in for days
Until you discover we're not the same,

I don't want to be normal
And I don't expect you to relate.

I do wonder what it's like to be normal
But I guess I'll never know,
But shortly after I start to wonder,
a question arises with all this thoughts on normality,
are you the norm?
Hmm, I wonder.

The Definition of the walking dead, Is living life by the lustful flesh.

To know something, is one thing, To understand it, is another, To be destroyed by it, is one other thing, To grow and thrive from it, is another thing. Water can both kill and save a life, so can knowledge sometimes. But overall be wise... or not.

Life is Funny but Death was no Comedian. It took, That's all it did when it came.
