022411a Saturday Morning Poem by Manonton Dalan

022411a Saturday Morning

first time hairs on my arms raise
attracted to a warm awakening
cotton won't let go my whole body
acting like giant hungry octopus
i have to struggle layers for layers
to expose my nakedness to walls

conscious about prowling eyes
i grab my towel; feel wooden floor
sticking to my sole; suckling babe
tiptoe to marble; my face on mirror
slap face with cold water; hopeless
i like smell of gel soaking my beard
