040611f Sinkhole Poem by Manonton Dalan

040611f Sinkhole

rubbing noise caught my ear
vibration came next with anger
flashlight searching patiently
flapping piece of plywood
nudging electric fan motor
old blades turning slowly

part of house came down
edges of ravine inviting fall
a big tree's roots expose
earthworm crawling out
to birds' delight they sing
but refuse... dog's waiting
