051210c After The Marsh - Poem by Manonton Dalan

few years ago parking lot is marsh
where herons hunt and ducks play
fishes lay eggs and crabs eat them
buildings debris filled those craters
landfill from old structures on base
caterpillar did the rest of the change

there's a restaurant, monument, wharf
and lake, they call it animal sanctuary
all surrounded with planted pine trees
acacia are there bracing sea breeze
two giant hexagonal kiosk for party
including open grills & volleyball court
