08 In Love, Still Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

08 In Love, Still

Rating: 4.8

We lie
Looking
In each other's eyes,
As sleep eludes them.
You
At fifty five
Have the same
Beautiful eyes
That you looked
At me first with.
No charms lost.

Earlier in the day
Our little daughter said
She's in love.
Little daughter
No longer-
A woman
Grown up,
Now we realise,
And she is in love.

We
Still
Are.
