130. Where Is The Man That We Once Knew Poem by Jaden Knight

130. Where Is The Man That We Once Knew

Where is the man that we once knew
he was kind gentle and calm
the sun used to shine on him mostly
not much seemed to upset him
and when it did it went away quickly

Possible he went away when the arguments started
or was met with terrible accident
all we know is that he has disappeared
we don’t like who has replaced him

The new one is more highly strung
quick to anger slow to forgive
has many rain clouds over his head
has cost us greatly with his ways
how we want him to leave

But I have heard news that our friend is not dead
he has simply gone away for a while
waiting for his time to return to us
and not soon it enough can it come

When he returns the new one shall flee
the sun shall shine as it did before
and what was broken can be repaired
as good as new if we should choose
and as long as we can be good to each other
it’s possible he will remain forever

Very well written poem, I can feel the sadness seeping from your words, wanting the man you once knew to return and never leave again. Are you talking about a loved one? Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
