175. Perfectly Flawed Poem by Jaden Knight

175. Perfectly Flawed

I have failed the test of perfection
before I have even taken it
flawed by design
but also in creation

In that respect I guess we all have
even those who refuse to admit it
they want to be just like diamond
but even they have imperfections

People look down on others
as they fail to meet their standards
it's only because they're ashamed
that they would fail them too

Embrace your spots and blemishes
so you can accept the flaws of others
look deeper past the skin
and you will see they're human too
no matter what we all try
to change about ourselves
the indisputable fact will remain
you're perfectly flawed

Thank you for a poem getting us to think about this. I have come across some quite scary viewpoint from people who see things from a perfectionist supremacy point of view not seeing either natural variation as extremely important to any species survival or their own quirky deviation within the spectrum of human variation. I don't like that this inferior way of thinking can be still alive - it needs challenging and eradication tthrough education especially in those in a y office of power and also more generally.
