176. No Fairytales Poem by Jaden Knight

176. No Fairytales

There's no such thing as happy ever after
that only happens in fairy tales
silly stories of love and magic
that never could really happen

an ever after would mean
that you live to the end of time
immortality is over rated
as you watch your friends grow old and die

Magic will not solve your problems
if anything it will make them worse
witches and wizards are fine on paper
and it's best that they stay that way

The good guys do not always win
even though the films say that they have to
sometimes the bad guys just win the day
but then that's what happens in reality

There's no such thing as ever after
I'd be lying if I said that there is
live your life and fall in love
and while you maynot have your happy ending
at least you can do your best

In my world Love happens now and then and so do headaches... Neither last forever...

To see your point nicely illustrated, refer to my poem, Wizard of Oz- -A Requiem Your poem has a simple, clear style that is appealing and suits the topic beautifully.

well i hardly agree with P.O.View (below) that there's no problem without a solution. not if solution means an outcome that is satisfying i also disagree with M. Hammond when she writes Neither last forever. i do believe that Love can last forever (or at least until death) . oh, wait. now i've read what she said another time and i see she specified that what she said is in my world, meaning hers. that could be. i like that Profanisaurus has warned people that a happy ending is not always going to happen. it is said that one who is forewarned is forearmed. hopefully a warning will help some of us. i wouldn't mind being immortal, if it didn't come with aches, pains, fractures, and sprains. or cancer, diabetes, baldness, and senility. or loneliness, pennilessness [there is a word penniless, meaning without money; why don't they spell it pennyless? ; i made up the word pennilessness], and obsolescence (for people) . have a craze as day, John aka Profanisaurus! bri :)
