.3. A Great Day Out Poem by David Threadgold

.3. A Great Day Out

Rating: 5.0

In the grounds of Castle Howard
Centre columns domed and towered
Gardens neatly clipped and tended
Broken railings newly mended

In the grounds is Atlas fountain
World on shoulder this man mountain
Round each corner there’s a treasure
Statues taller than I measure

Lakes a plenty rides on boats
Folk in shirt sleeves some in coats
Sunshine from blue skies no doubt
To help us have a great day out
