.3. Cooking The Books Poem by David Threadgold

.3. Cooking The Books

Rating: 4.5

Out came the books on cooking
Wrote by some famous cooks
With detail how to make a dish
Then showing how it looks

My wife sat there for hours
She read from soups to sweets
How to make the perfect roast
And where to score your meats

Then pages flicking wildly
The best she’s missing most
My dreams of gourmet dining
Are replaced with beans on toast

They are supposed to be very good for you David, but I must admit I'm very into the gourmet bit. I always find though, that when I get a recipe I like, I tend not to have all the ingredients and therefore it never tastes right. Ha! Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
