914: The Remains Poem by Amit Biswas

914: The Remains

Rating: 5.0

Met her at the airport the other day,
I never thought I would ever,
Though I have seen her aplenty earlier,
Today’s black silk dress gave a depth to her,
Made her very distant too, all my familiarity,
Got lost to her newly worn gravity,
All on a sudden at the first eye contact,
She said Hi, how are you? I was flabbergasted,

But she kept looking away from me to the other side,
Hardly responded to my questions, like the unwilling bride!
But did signal me to come close, and then still looking away,
Asked, does anything remain between us or everything's grey?
I said, stars remain invisible, in daylight, but they stay!
We took our different flights and went our way.
