Panted and raved, but never came,
Had all the company, never to blame,
Stopped the run and took the slow walk,
As we engaged ourselves in small talk,
From nowhere all the energy came again,
Started the run, without thought of a loss or gain,
In the heat of the run, the mirror gave us a glance,
Finished soon satiated, got ten cents for the dance.
