A Collaborative Way Poem by Doris Cornago

A Collaborative Way

Rating: 5.0

I've touched people as I meet them and shook their hands
Or tapping their shoulders in camaraderie
Some people like a quick hug or a buss
But the best touch is one of the heart
Where it matters to me most
This is the best place
Where we can
Be carefree
On the
Same
Level
As
Heart
to heart is
Not subjective
Not looking at color
Or creed, just a human
Heart longing to harmonize
Don't keep your distance, unafraid
Tell me how you feel about the world
What's the deal, your allotment, and how
Can we complement, in a collaborative way
Putting our heads together on a common problem
Is like singing a song set on a companionable rhythm
My voice has tenor undertones, and you might try baritone
Not on the same beat, maybe a contralto, but with understanding

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Meeting new people requires us to touch them to show our openness to a possible friendship. Meeting new peoplerequires that we go easy with the 'touching' as we cannot know what will please or offend a person as we're clueless about race or creed. This is more tricky when we're required to finish a task together and we don't know how to make the other person feel more comfortable with us. A good opener is 'opening the heart' with words like 'how are you', showing sincerity and thoughtfulness, a heart-to-heart approach, let your hair down. Music can be like in a band, made by different instruments but harmonizing well.

Instead of different caste, creed and colour we must work together in collaborative way like music in band made by difgerent instruments but harmonizing well and amusing. Dear Doris, you have very nicely inscribed this here with example. Your penmanship creates an angle in composition that looks beautiful.Thanks.

Hi Kumarmani. I have devised this kind of poetry structure like a classic dance where the partners engage in spirited steps then slows down steps to rest so they can relax a bit before slowly gaining speed to separate in an upbeat, hearts racing. Similarly in reading a poem, one must be graceful and have time to pause for reflection, taking up the reading again and ends on a high note.
