A Conflict Poem by M. Asim Nehal

A Conflict

Rating: 5.0

He was born in a religious family
Brought up in a decent manner
Well taught, finely nurtured
Carefully groomed and fostered
And when he was introduced to the society
All what he learned, started to conflict
The society said the opposite of his learnings
Mingle with people, but don't become a victim
Collectively you will be a force
Individually, you will remain upright
A non-venomous snake will never ditch itself,
By revealing it isn't poisonous enough to kill
But they ask him to detach itself
Superiority of life is plays at the hands of inferiors
And the question remains status quo
How to live this worldly life
In the form of human or as a servant of humanity

Yes, in our life we are always faced with such questions. When our religion say one thing, teachers say another or society say yet another. We face conflicting values at a time. There is yet another factor- our conscience, that is in my opinion is very important factor in selecting a right course...At every step of our life we make choices between right or wrong basing on our own values. Thanks for sharing a thought provoking write.
