A Cry From Poor Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

A Cry From Poor

Rating: 3.5

id you ever hear the silent cry from the poor?
Have you ever seen them begging from door to door?
Do they want mercy or few words of sympathy?
We are often blessed with fortune from almighty

We are living under open sky with vast horizon?
Though we have divided land into many zones
There are large palaces and simple huts too
There is wide scale disparity and it is true

The ocean remain silent and calm
It remains wide spread and cause no harm
How much wealth remain hidden in belt?
Is there any necessity of having it ever felt?

We run after wealth like mad dog
Who knows when there will be burst in fog?
When the misfortune or disaster may take us by surprise?
We all still involve in rendering hollow promises

There is enough power in wealth and fame
We do anything and feel no shame
The other human beings are seen with scant respect
We have no time to look back and introspect

We out cry against pain an d hunger
Still there remains wide spread danger
We have so much wealth and glamour
Still we keep ill will, hatred and harbor

We are under long siege and captivity
We clearly know the implications and utility
Still we shed no tears for the less privileged
We live under illusion and act as cleverly managed

How many more may be suffering?
How many may have sympathy but still differing?
What do they think and act for their welfare?
Is it taken as one time gesture as fun fare?

The cold and hunger may take many more lives
We may render lip service and strive
Who may come forward to help and stand by?
Who will extend the help and willingly try?

The rain dazzle and increase the plight
The poors suffer with nothing to write
Helpless eyes with prayers and mercy
Who else may feel for them and feel pity?

Ground the ears and try to catch the current
There is some movement and signal is sent
The lava may erupt at any time and place
The human beings may be wiped out from race

Proudly feel but leniently lend the aid
So many words are often nicely said
It is our duty and moral commitment
We need to help them for the moment

Take the oath and pray for moral support
Nice thoughts and sympathy with good efforts
It may assuage the feelings and create hope for survival
It may be a noble step and attempt for revival
