A Gift From God
From the day you came into this world,
a gift from God above.
A day of unrelenting joy,
a day just filled with love.
When first I held you in my arms,
I knew would come the day.
When you would grow into who you are
and start making your own way.
Those years just flew for me and you.
The trials and tribulations too.
Sweet moments and memories,
my mind is filled with days like these.
It is purest of gold your own child to hold.
The ultimate experience to ease growing old.
My only wish is for you to see
when you hold your own,
what you mean to me.
