A friend will lend,
Part of themselves
To help you mend
Your pain.

A friend will come,
And hold you hand
When there's nothing
To gain.

A friend will listen,
Give advice,
And help you understand,
The World is not a happy place,
If all alone you have to face
Your Problems, small and grand
Without the helping grace
Of a friend's warm holding hand.

A necessary blend,
Of good and frank advice,
Sincere love, warm protection,
A deep feeling of affection
Don't think about it twice
Having a good friend,
Is very, very nice!
