A Hard Call Poem by Sandra Feldman

A Hard Call

Rating: 5.0

Do you ever get accustomed
To being alone?
Staring at the wall,
Walking up and down the hall.

1 room,2 room, three,
All empty,
1 door,2 door, three,
Who's there?
Only me.

You know my response to this, Sandra. : -) After 15 years of not just being alone, but much of the time abjectly isolated, I am accustomed to it (as much as a human being can be)

I am so used to loneliness But not to being alone, For at times I am shadowed Perhaps by some some clone. If its not me then who Would want to follow my day? Perhaps it is loneliness That has something so say. I fathom not its silence But feel it close to me, Soul-mate that I shall have Until eternity! You poem inspired me dear poetess.... wonderful lines you wrote. Thanks for sharing it!

If my little poem, inspired such a gem as yours, then good for us. Makes me very proud. 'The last stanza, a sad marvel but beautiful, 'Silence-Soul-mate-eternity' Thank you, very appreciated
