A Hot Day Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

A Hot Day

I wake up in the morning
I see a clear sky, blue and with
Sparse clouds flitting slowly

I see birds chirping at each others
Perched on electric wires and
Scattered across green lawns

As the day grows I feel tense
For the heat and dusts
Rising from the streets and fields
Blinding the eyes

Children chasing each other
Dresses soaked in sweat
Looking tired and hungry

I wait for the evening to descend
Sitting in the balcony
I see the distant hills
And wish the cool wind
To rise from there and cares my face

Beautiful morning is well perceived by your kind self. We hear chirping of birds from your lovely poem. Rising and setting of sun you can notice daily. A nice natural poem is nicely penned.

Lovely poem. Soon we will send the monsoon to come soothe. Soon as the next moon.

Nice observation on the whole day...it's true that we feel disgusted to go through the sunny day time when compared to the cool morning and the cooled evening...enjoyed this poem...*************************
