A Laconic Word Poem by Rahman Henry

A Laconic Word

Rating: 5.0

Hopeless days and dreamless nights
Go on
The wolf in you has dressed a lamb's dress

You speak of a lot of democracy
A lot of patriotism
A lot of betterment of the poor
Your orators deliver a lot of speech
All are of your praise

But we know what the hell is going on
We have nothing to say
Nothing to protest with

We only know: A day would come
When we the people should use
Just a laconic word against you
That's nothing but a 'No'.

Wolves in lambs' dresses. An apt description of contemporary politicians. Thanks for sharing
