A Layman's Fun Poem by Indira Renganathan

A Layman's Fun

Rating: 5.0

Semblance! !
My father resembled his mother
His father resembled his father
My mother resembled her grandfather
Her paternal niece also looked the same way

My elder brother resembles our grand father
I also look like our grand father
My younger brother looks like our father's brother
My sister looks like our grand mother, our father's way

Semblance! !
Many as I study, follow the same way
Albeit some look like elephant with big ears
And some have monkey mouth to look the same way
Strange, some look like aliens..some forefathers

God, you are the creator, you are the father
Why to me alone all look odd and funny
Strange, God's creatures resemble not their father
Often at this thought I laugh and it is funny

Often at this thought I console myself with a concern
None has seen God in this world..I too have not seen
Is that to infer that God looks like all His creatures
Often at this thought I laugh and it is just fun

Often at this thought I laugh and it is just fun
For every new born will claim, he or she is God
Lots of Gods, lots of isms, ho, lots of clashes
Often at this thought I laugh and it is great fun
