A Moment Of Reflection Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

A Moment Of Reflection

The birds sing out to the new day,
Some fly through the sky,
Heading somewhere,
On their way,
To pastures new,
The fresh morning dew,
Glistens and shines,
The clock in the hall chimes,
It's a peaceful morn,
So grateful to be born,
In a valley so fine,
This valley of mine,
Holds the key,
To memories of loved ones,
So very dear to me,
And if I had the chance,
To live this life all over again,
I would in a heartbeat,
If only to see them all once more,
Smiling,
Waiting,
There on the door,
With arms open wide,
These tears I cannot hide,
For this life has been the best,
I'll remember it with strong affection,
Until I'm laid to rest.
