A Mother's Love Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

A Mother's Love

Rating: 4.5

Close your eyes and you will feel me there
Like a mother supervising your evening prayers.
Think of me and instantly I will be with you
Like a mother watching over everything you do.

Call to me when you wake in the night
And I will be at your bedside to allay your fright.
Come to me when I reach old age
And I will tell you stories of your childhood days.

There will be times when no one waits for you at home.
There will be days when you must face the world alone.
There may be trials for you to overcome all on your own.
But know that you are loved like no other
And draw your strength from that.

For no one can defeat you but yourself.
No one can lose faith in you if you do not yourself.
No one can take away what you are meant to have.
But you must be as sure of yourself as I am of you.

So be strong.
Be wise.
Be patient.
Be kind.

And the world will come to love you as I do!

Lovely and inspirational piece of poetry, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. The essence of a loving mother's love well depicted in the piece. A nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
