The Poem, The Poet?
Poems cry out to the poet
To be birthed from the mind
Sometimes naked
Sometimes clothed in innuendos
Covered in metaphors
Slimy similes
Sometimes juxtaposed with reality
Many woven in make believe
A poet tries out the best outlet
Giving life to ideas pregnant in his mind
Sometimes in an antithesis
Sometimes reinforcing stereotypes
Sometimes irreverent
Even irreligious
Sometimes questioning the unconscionable
The uncomfortable
Many riding raw nerves
There is a poet
There is a poem
Are they the same?
Who to blame?
When your point of view
Separates from you
The poet, the poem?
The poem, the poet?
