A Poet Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

A Poet

Rating: 4.0

A poet

I would rather be the ocean than a river.
A river though a prolific life giver
will eventually sink in my bosom
As an ocean i hold secrets more awesome
Within me resides the wonders of creation
Some to be discovered some extinct under regression

I would rather be the universe than the earth
In the universe resides the Creator and secrets of my birth
I would carry secrets of planetary formation
particles and energy and their aboriginal information
The earth is an infinitesimal speck of dust
So small it can melt in me complete with crust

I would rather travel at the speed of light
than watch the sluggishness of life
measured in infinitesmal units of years
Instead of multiples of light years too complex for ears
At warp speed i would travel to all corners of the universe
Understanding the music of the spheres in form and verse

If all these wishes fail me
i would rather just be a poet
