A Romantic Sunset Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

A Romantic Sunset

Rating: 5.0

Those were days of madness
When all one could see
Was a handsome and charming face
And dreams of wings and escape

No barrier seemed too high
No place seemed too lonely
No time seemed too long
For the meeting of the souls

How swiftly went those days
How eagerly they waited for dawn
Dusk brought a painful closure
For they had no home of their own

Now the time is their own
To sit together and spin
The thread of Adam and Eve
In the afterglow of that love
