A Surprised Sweet Kiss By Monkey Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

It has been two days since snow fall
but white snow still covered our pool deck and lawn.
Six cats were waiting for meal outside sliding door
on wooden pool deck, under rear house awning.

As soon as my wife opened the sliding door
Monkey sneaked inside the house very quickly.
She gave Noel a quick kiss on his nose
then returned to the outside as fast as she came in.

While Monkey began eating her food in food tray
Noel looked out like being in a daze:
"Who was there that just kissed me today,
Who of six with their heads over their food tray"?

NỤ HÔN NGỌT BẤT NGỜ BỞI MONKEY

Trời mưa tuyết đã ngừng hai ngày trước
Nhưng tuyết còn phủ cỏ, sàn hồ bơi.
Sáu con mèo chờ ăn ngoài cửa kiếng
Dưới hiên nhà, chúng đợi sàn hồ bơi.

Monkey chờ vợ tôi mở cửa kiếng.
Nó vội vàng len cửa chạy vào mau.
Nó vội vàng hôn Noel trên mũi.
Rồi vội vàng nó lại chạy ra mau.

Monkey ăn như không gì khác cả.
Mèo Noel thầm hỏi với bàng hoàng:
"Mèo nào đó đã hôn ta vội vã
Trong sáu mèo đang chụm đầu ăn kia"
