A Throne Of Power Poem by Terence George Craddock

A Throne Of Power

a hubris wisdom lesson
in putting too much power
in the hands of clowns

those unfit to lead
or incapable of leading well
to the esteemed level

a country or nation needs

Shakespeare both taught
and red light warned of this
in his play 'King Lear'.

Inspired by the poem 'Alas - Αλίμονο' by the poet Kostas Lagos.
Dedicated to the poet Kostas Lagos.
It is good to read Kostas Lagos, a simple needed direct to the point poem, 'Alas', addressing a simple cause a simple solution, in a very poignant poem.

Yes the problem is in the selection of leaders. Once the British army had a policy where officers had to buy their commissions, they had to pay money to advance in rank. The problem was bad officers lost battles and lost men and armies. America seems to be a rich mans club buying leaders power and favours. A minimum standard of intelligence and ability seems to be needed for future candidates.

The problem is in the selection of leaders. The process must like everything which works be done scientifically. When you get a TV personality to lead a country you get a country of clowning and absurdity. A leader is a leader. A manager of properties and investments is a manager. Dont take one for the other
