[my Italian translation of 'Log' - Poem by James Merrill]

'Ceppo'

'Log' - Poem by James Merrill
Then when the flame forked like a sudden path
I gasped and stumbled, and was less.
Density pulsing upward, gauze of ash,
Dear light along the way to nothingness,
What could be made of you but light, and this?

This is just my Italian translation of the poem 'Log', by James Merrill. You can visit his pages to know more about him and his poetry.
A deeply thoughtful poem about the flame and the light, from the log. A really good photo with the poem. I have read some of James Merrill's long poems too.
yes, I love such brief poems, so full of meaning.. :)
