Stark reality we can hardly face
It has been the bane of human race.
Men on earth will rise and fall,
The great Schopenhauer had said it all.
The average man cannot reconcile,
And has feared death all the while.
Giving rise to all theological speculations
Of life and death and souls emancipation!
What if, like the candle life blows out?
And there is total darkness all around?
Nature forgets an individual face,
Its more concerned with continuance
Of the human race.
Prevalence of belief in immortality,
Schopenhauer felt it to be a false
Publicity!
You are born only once, die only once,
Whether in Germany, India, or France.
So it is only one chance for you,
Make the best of it, and then say -
Adieu!
