A Wonderful Friend Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

A Wonderful Friend

Rating: 4.9

Now winter has melted to springtime
And the flowers bring colours so bright,
Each morning I wake with the songbirds
Embracing my heart with delight,
I feel that a dream I am living
I pray that it will never end,
And I am so glad that I found you
For you are such a wonderful friend.

My heart once forlorn and so empty
Now flutters like butterfly wings,
It's filled with the love that you give me
And all of the joy that it brings,
Together we'll gaze at the sunrise
Then watch as the colours do blend,
And I know that I will never leave you
For you are such a wonderful friend.

The warm breeze so gentle does carry
The perfume of blossom so sweet,
That floats through the air of the morning
So making this moment complete,
I look to the clouds that are passing
My wishes of love they do send,
And I know they shall find their way to you
For you are such a wonderful friend.

Nature is a friend of all and a great messenger of emotions and feelings as well. A wonderful poem and a beautiful birthday gift. Best Wishes Naseer

The way to have a friend is to be one and you are just a wonderful friend to Bonnie composing it just for her. Your work is always a delight to read. I really liked 'heart once forlorn and empty now flutters with butterfly wings' and how you tied up each verse up beautifully at the end. Thank you Andrew.......Karin Anderson

'One who finds a friend finds a treasure'. You have now two treasures with you. One inside you, that great imagery and poetic craft you dumped in this great poem and the friend.
