When it comes to you
I've learned to take my glasses off.
That not everything is meant to be seen.
It's something that's not easy
To come to terms with.
Realizing that the prescription
Seamlessly changed the minute I got it.
When it comes to you these prescriptions
Are becoming too costly.
The frames aren't as lively as they use to be.
The cloths don't wipe like they used to.
They attract lint, pollen, & smudges
Regardless of style,
No matter if I cleaned them or not.
When it comes to you
I learned to take my glasses off.
It's a lot easier to blur the lines
Between what I actually see &
What I don't.
When it comes to you I've learned
That my vision is perfectly fine,
It's just, I wish I misplaced them more
often
