Adlestrop By Edward Thomas In Hindi/Urdu Translation

Adelstrop, haan muje yaad hai
Adelstrop ka naam, kyon k ek din
June ki tadpadti garmi main
exprees train bil-fehrist vahan ruki thee.

Bhaap bhupkaari maar rehi thee. kisi ne
khaanstay hue tab apna galla saaf kiya
na koi gaDi pe chaDa y gaya
platform sun saan tha, siraf Adelstrop ka naam tha.

Bahar willow aur namr k ped, aur uga ghaas tha
medowsweet k phool thay, sookhay ghas k bundle thay
is k siwa kuch bhi wahan na tha, sub sun saan tha
aasman main oonchay uDtay cHotay cHotay baadal thay.

Us waqt, ek kawway na kaN-kaN karna shuroo kiya
fir us k paas k saathion ne bhi us ka saath diya
fir door door se sub kawway kaN kaN karnay lagay
jaisay Oxfordshir or Gloucestershire k sub kawwon ne
apna koi mela lagaya ho.

Adlestrop
by Edward Thomas (1878-1917)

Yes, I remember Adlestrop—
The name, because one afternoon
Of heat the express-train drew up there
Unwontedly. It was late June.

The steam hissed. Someone cleared his throat.
No one left and no one came
On the bare platform. What I saw
Was Adlestrop—only the name

And willows, willow-herb, and grass,
And meadowsweet, and haycocks dry,
No whit less still and lonely fair
Than the high cloudlets in the sky.

And for that minute a blackbird sang
Close by, and round him, mistier,
Farther and farther, all the birds
Of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
