Ah Rain! !
Ah Rain! !
You fall upon my window panes,
Incessantly
The images get hazy
They flow like
Streams of water
And get mixed with my tears.
Rain!
How have I been
Searching you all these years
Through the pains
of a burning sun! !
Did you hide
Behind a cloud?
Wow,
How have I tided over
This tortuous summer?
Did you hear
My painful cry?
You came
Yes, you came with a lightening
The petrichor
Rose from the soaked earth
And I was drenched in your shower..
I hear your song,
The footsteps of your coming
Your knocks on the door
Even when the doors and windows
Are closed
You come through
Without listening to
Any denials.
This is an urgent poem. You NEED the emotional that the very process of rainfall offers. Nature pulls us into a larger world than our wounded heart, which is then strengthened by these vast natural forces. But rain also works on an intimate level and it is this intimacy which I love especially in your poem. The lastline shows this so poignantly when you declare the rain will take no denials. I am pwesuaded! !
Thank you so much, Sir, for your beautiful comment.Yes, rain is associated with our emotions most intimately.
IF I ever produce another (usually-monthly) showcase, this poem may find its way into that showcase. You may always remind me of it. ;) : ) bri
I give this five stars (if I ignore the TYPOS) , mostly for the poem's attirbutes, but maybe a half to a whole star because Bharati is a good friend. : ) bri
Thank you Bri for your many comments. As you have already given five stars I hope it is making way to one of your showcase.I will try again to edit the poem.
The previously-mentioned (by me) book is 'In The Realms Of Love & Divinity'. I'm not too interested in love OR divinity, but Bharati gifted me with a copy. : )
I believe the title is Ah Rain! ! , NOT Ahrain! ! . This poem is one of many found in a recently-published book of poems, coauthored by Dr. Antony Theodore and Bharati Nayak (of PH) .
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
