The Tableau Of A Thirsty Land (Tableau)

The Tableau is an invented stanzaic form that paints a single image
in keeping with the name of the form, tableau meaning picture.
Created by Emily Romano who suggests the word "tableau" be included in the title.
The elements of the Tableau are:
stanzaic, written in any number of sixains.
syllabic,5 syllable lines.
rhyme at the discretion of the poet.
written describing a single image.
written with a title that includes the word "tableau".

The Tableau Of A Thirsty Land

There is a big sea
Having full in depths
Briny aqua tears
Bulky much sobbing
Being unable
To help the land's thirst

A high thirsty crow
With its followers
In search of water
Hastily flying
Hither and thither
Struggling and striving

Public on the land
In groups on mission
Thinking out schemes
Regardless of the
Government's silence
In great unity

Now is going on
Cleaning to restore
All water bodies
Ready for the next
Monsoon's shower boons
Flora, fauna cheered

This tableau is a new form of poetry totally unknown to me. Many parts of India are hit with drought while there is flood in some other parts of the country! It is unfortunate that Chennai is thirsting for water and long queues of people waiting to collect water is a common sight there. Hope the monsoon will soon arrive there to quench the thirst! Any way the concerted efforts of people to store water in clean spaces is something laudable. A beautiful poem, Indiraji!

Thank you dear madam for sharing here a Tableau along with its features. The interesting feature is five syllable in each line. This poem ' The Tableau Of A Thirsty Land' is an example of the " tableau" and it a beautiful poem with nice theme. A lofty step is taken by you.
