April Carpenter

All I See - Poem by April Carpenter

I look in the mirror and all I see
is my horride past coming back to haunt me

Can this all go away?
I dont want it to stay!

Can I walk away?
and never stray

Can you hold my hand?
and never go back again

I look in the mirror and all i see
is myself looking back at me.

Some people write because they fancy themselves to be poets and their work is mediocre, or it is horrid. But some write because they need to. to put something down or to let out a thought... I think you are one of these. Your poem is sad, but well-written. It fits many situations in my life recently.
Please know that you have blessed me through this poem, which you probably wrote for yourself and not me. Thank you.
