All Of A Sudden
Thoughts normally crosses my mind often,
why got stuck, all of a sudden?
Fragrance normally spreads in the air,
why got stuck with me, all of a sudden?
The sound that normally echoed in the mountain rally,
why went to someone's ear, all of a sudden?
Wandering clouds normally went past me several times,
why fell on me, all of a sudden?
I was roaming all alone in this world,
then why I fell in trap of love, all of a sudden?
This heart travelled wherever it wanted,
why it got stuck with someone unknown, all of a sudden?
This is a warning signal to you my dear life
beware else people will remember you as a madman,
all of a sudden.
एक ख्याल जो अक्सर दिल से गुज़र जाया करता था
ठहर गया क्यों यकायक?
एक खुशबू जो हवाओं को महकाया करती थी हमेशा
आज क्यों बस गयी मन में मेरे यकायक?
वादियों में एक आवाज़ जो मेरी टकरा आती थी सदा
आज कैसे सुन ली किसी ने यकायक?
यूँ तो सदा बादल बूँद बन बरस्ता रहा मेरे आँगन में
आज कैसे भिगो गया मुझको यकायक?
मैं तो अकेले ही फीर रहा था इस जहान के मेले में
एक प्यार कि बेल बन ये कौन आ गया यकायक?
मेरा मन मस्त मौला हुआ करता था सुबहो और शाम
आज कौन बांध गया इसको यकायक?
देख कर रखना कदम, संभल कर रहना 'आशी' इन मस्त अदाओं से
कहीं ये दीवाना ना बना दे तुझको यकायक?
I like the way you connect many things under the rubric of ALL OF A SUDDEN, the whole poem shows how life is bound to surprise us, however much we think we can predict it. The closing lines offer some comic relief after LOVE barges into the poem disrupting the serenity of life with its turbulent joys. Oh, yes we want that to happen!
