All Things Convivial Poem by Doris Cornago

All Things Convivial

Death is not a going away,
it's transforming into
Something ethereal
Shedding shells
Something
Lighter
Good
for
Flight
and mixing
with all things
Convivial, fraternal
Friendships are often forged
Among creatures of similar feathers

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I am pareidolic and very proud of this fact. My 'overactive imagination' has allowed me to write interesting books. In the photo, I can distinctly see a turtle slowly transforming itself into a dragon as its life ends, a promise made to it by a sea goddess whom the turtle freed from exile in an isolated island, in a very steep tower. The turtle shattered its shell as it fell down in freeing the goddess and so, the turtle also had its release. A brave act is all it needs to escape. Sometimes, we can survive in a confining space by giving wings to our imagination, which in turn, frees our spirit. As Karnika Yashwant had said, 'We are all connected as life. When we breathe through it, we are in our fulfilled selves. No pain, no regrets.'

The photo is actually the inspiration for the poem. But your comment made writing the poem more significant. Philosophy is really a personal way of looking at life, or of poems. Thank you. :)

As I've consoled KEY on the lost data on the GoPro which was unfortunately lost at sea, All the images captured by the camera are in your mind and will remain there for you to reminisce on. You can tell me the story and I'll make a book of all the moments through your eyes, transferred on a book, read by others, thus recreating the moment and recovering the loss.
