Almighty. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Formless is Almighty
we assign Him a form.
He is omnipresent,
we keep Him in
Church, mosque, temple
or in part of our home.

Every thing we use
belongs to Him.
We can change only
some of those things
as per our whim.

Whether He is a male
or a female or a mix,
whether tall or dwarf,
whether fair or black
are not known to us.
People include God
in many genders, shapes, colors
totally nonplussed.

Has any body seen Him
so far in real life?
The reply is always
full of strife.

People say He is present
in the creation everywhere,
We don't see Him,
our eyes don't have
that much of power.
Some say He can be felt
like air, colourless and invisible.
May He be seen by meditation,
prayer or asceticism,
who knows,
may all be true
and justifiable.

Some opine that man
invented God as He
needed somebody
whom he could fully trust.

God's presence, appearance,
dwelling are controversial.
Theist believe His presence,
atheist believe the opposite,
fully personal, attitudinal.

But I am God fearing,
God comes to my
consciousness before taking
any wrong step as
I believe He is
omniscient and omnipotent.
That does not mean
I have not done any wrong,
after all I am a human being,
but definitely my wrong doings
have reduced to some extent
because of God, the concept.

I bow down my head
before that person/s
who gave the concept of God.
Crores of wrong doings
are not committed daily
by the theist and fence sitters
as His presence enters their heads.
Certainly the creator of this
Universe must be present somewhere whom we call
God or by any other word.

Whatever, God is present
neither in wood, nor in
stone, mud, and metals
He needs neither offerings
nor flowers from man
as all things are His own.
Performing and practicing
non-violence, control of senses,
kindness to all, forgiveness,
Knowledge, austerity, peace
and truthfulness in our
daily social intercourse
are enough to worship Him
just like the flower petals.
