Alone Poem by Gary Hembree

Alone

Rating: 5.0

I don't want to die alone.
I once loved a girl I thought I knew.
Her eyes caught mine, and brought my mind to peace.
When her lips meant mine, my breath gave way.
When we held hands, I knew my troubles were far away.
When she whispered in my ear, my walls would break.
With her, I became a listener.
With her, I gave my secrets.
She was my world, my confidence, my motivation.
I once loved a girl, a girl I thought I knew.
And now my heart beats, to a song a song of being forever alone.
