An Autistic Child Wakes Up Her Dead Mother! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

They laid the corpse of the dead TV news-reader
on pyre, and the usual rituals were going on
before the body is put to fire. " Just a week before,
she held programmes in TV on the ways
of relieving oneself from the engulfing feel of stress
and the enchanting thoughts of suicide", said,
the TV crew. "Did she hate this life rewarded with
an autistic child? ". Never she said.

Destiny puts honest people into plights
unpleasantand mind-shattering!
The weak ones shed tears and relieve themselves
from the gruelling worries! But the strong bury
all their misery into their hearts and so they burst!
Her autistic child tried waking up her mother!
The people around the pyre were shedding tears
not knowing the words to enlighten the child!
The beauteous face of the dead was lying on pyre
sightless, tearless and heedless to comfort her child!

Such heart-rending God-created situations
wreak havoc on the honest minds which seek
an answer from the Almighty for the predicaments
atrocious caused in calm in the life of the innocent!
I too slept after scribbling these lines in a book!
