When I am close to despair I think of
Our love being so easy, knowing you're there
Draws me into the norm., and lifts me above
Resentment. Without you it would be unfair
To judge what I would escape to, but you
Calm my heart, help me to see a way out
Of this maze of uncertainty, make anew
Resolute vows to survive. I'm clear about
Who lives in my heart my dear love, and more
Than that, - assured of who's living in yours.
Your title says it all - simply and honestly. Your poem is a love story. Not the passionate, lust-driven magnetism of first days, but a love that has weathered time and settled down. A bit like a comfortable sofa, a tad shabby, but a perfect place to spend one's days and nights. With love like this, the rest of life's roller coaster mystery is manageable somehow. Lucky girl! Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
This is a charming and lovely write, Fay, one that tells of a love that has no stress or friction. I know a couple who have a relationship like that. Both are widowed, yet visit each other and spend the night every so often, especially when one is feeling blue. Yet, they still haven't married, just remain social friends to outside appearances, and seem to enjoy their special intimacy. Your fine poem, written so well and lovingly, reminded me of them. Carl.
Lifted from the Ordinary to the extraordinary sounds like love to me.. :) 10
Nobody does love poetry like you, Fay. It is nice to share your happiness.
Such a dependable and deep love. I can relate to this so much myself. An Easy Love is an easy poem to love.......love 10 Karin Anderson
