With trembling hands on the phone
In panic, heart thumping, all alone
Eyes teary as I dial 999
My voice trembling on the line
I call out the name and address
States the reason for my distress
Shivering in shock, no one around
Hoping I'll soon hear the siren's sound
Feeling relieved when help gets there
I bless myself, say a silent prayer

Thank God for phones lovely and sad
Thank you Dan, I've lost count of how many emergency calls I've had to make, hopefully no more! ! !
