An Exotic Seagull Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

An Exotic Seagull

A seagull that took off in hurry
Had caused bird watchers spell of flurry,
For, it looked somewhat strange
In rare shade of orange,
But no, not to worry,
Nor was there injury,
It'd fallen in a vat ah of chicken curry!

It happened in Buckinghamshire (Times of India 10 July 2019) . An exotic looking bird was rescued by passers-by here and handed it over to the veterinary hospital. But on close inspection, vets found that the bird's colour had changed due to the curry it had fallen in!

I wish humans should also fall in a liquid that makes their skins uniform, A nice poem.

WOW, what a thought! Yes indeed, that would solve a lot of problems on Earth. Alas, man sees yellow everywhere because of his jaundiced vision.

This is quite an amusing write! The repetition of rhyming words makes it look like a limerick, but a limerick always has only five lines with the first, second and fifth lines rhyming similar and the third and fourth line also rhyming in a different manner....! The rhyme scheme is aa bb a!

Thanks indeed, a standard limerick only has five lines as you said, but this is an extended limerick, call it one and half (need not be so mathematically) , there are also double limericks and variations which I often follow. In this age of liberty, hope, you will allow me this much freedom. To be fair on what you say, I call it a Limerick because the PH listing won't allow the variations.
