An Unsettling Dream Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

An Unsettling Dream

Rating: 5.0

Unchartered dreams have an uncertain destination
No telling where you are going or what the vision means
Looking out the passenger’s window… through the mist
Warily peering with strange clarity at a perplexing scene

Within the space of the unleashed mind a story is told
Prowling and sniffing for an association with reality
Catching a scent …revealing groundless knowledge
Finding yourself in a dilemma scripted by abnormality

Waking with an uneasy feeling…trying to gain significance
A cool radiating feeling ripples through your pulsating veins
Simultaneously you accelerate while applying the brake
A baffling calmness settles as you find your mind in chains

You inhale while searching for your bearings and composure
What difference does it make… the journey was just a dream
Puzzling reexamination is not going to give logic or reason
Wipe the perspiration from your brow…and douse your screams
