And If Angels - Poem by Dónall Dempsey

An angel
falls to the ground

learns what it is
to be

after all

to have hunger
gnaw at your guts

the cold to take hold

freeze even
your memory

its feathers
falling away

dirty & grey
now only

a mere

wondering if there is
a Heaven

and if

An angel 'wondering if there is
a Heaven'... I like this kind of amnesia of the fallen angel...
