My father went to school on foot.
I went to school by bicycle.
My son is now going by van.
Are we growing strong or weak?

Your father's school was at the end of his street..your school was in the next street..and your son's is in the subarban area...just an example..science grows to make us grow with comforts essential...nice thought 10
we are getting comfortable at the cost of strength....lovely insight, , , thankyou-10
We are going strong through innovation, but weak in physical capabilities...thoughts provoking. Nice poem to share forth.
I ask myself the same question, Shan, in so many ways: my dad lived to be 93, my mum 88. I'm a mere 71, and with all the airconditioning, in the home, in the car, in the office, everywhere. Add to that with all the beers, the wines, the cognacs, much of which my dad did not have; with all the DNA I know and else, i ask myself, am I getting any stronger? Yes, somehow, perhaps greatly; but it does not lie in the airconditioning, in the wines and dinners, or in the DNA. Perhaps it lies in my knowledge of the world as my dad didn't and loving it all, as my dad coudn't have. Loved this, Shan Mark

...and the grand child will be airdropped...who knows whether stronger or weaker? no time to brood or be bitter...
