Are We Really The Best? ? Poem by Amitava Sur

Are We Really The Best? ?

Rating: 5.0

A baby looks best playing in mother's lap so free,
An animal looks so lovely only in the dense forest.
Bird looks so nice when flying stretching it's wings
Fluttering in the green field, a butterfly is at it's best.

We the human-being put them all in cage! !
How on earth this human race proclaim to be the best? ? ?

As long as we enslave others for our selfish ends, we are never the best but may be the worst....! Short, meaningful poem!

We the human-being put them all in cage! ! How on earth this human race proclaim to be the best? ? ? That's really is a question that is difficult to reply. You felt it and wrote this beautiful poem but we can only protest.

A poignant question. Caging others we are really not at our best. Nice thought provoking poem.

You have expressed the freedom we all deserve on this earth very poignantly, Amitava. Wanting to capture and put animals and birds where they cannot be free is a cruel desire of human beings for some reason. They want to hold onto their beauty, but in doing so the ones they want to enjoy are put in a sadness all their own at not being free to roam the earth. An excellent poem showing the actual cruelty of our desires on nature. Give you a 10, Amitava! Great poem! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

Beautiful question asked. How can we tell we are the best, especially when we cage them all. Everything looks beautiful and pleasant in its own place...Loved reading it.
